PLANT-BASED
HAIR DYES

Different. Beautiful. Natural

Look forward to your new Ayluna plant hair dye. Here you will find everything you need to know to ensure your hair coloring is perfect. Our plant hair dyes are different from conventional dyes: they do not change the inner hair structure but coat each hair with a shimmering glaze. The best thing about it? The application is very easy and fun!

Application of the plant-based hair treatment Cassia

Our plant-based hair treatment Cassia is used similarly to our plant hair dye. Therefore, these instructions also apply to the use of the plant-based hair treatment Cassia (except for dying a test strand and step 1). The hair treatment is not dying and suitable for all hair colours. The exposure time is 15 - 30 minutes.

Please read these application tips carefully.

First of all: dye a test strand

To ensure that the dying result is what you want, first dye a test strand. Choose a spot where your hair is the lightest or has the most greyness. Mix a tablespoon of dye and apply it according to the instructions below. Are you happy with the result? Then you can start dying.

Warning notices

Step 1 — Preparing

Wash your hair with one of our gentle shampoos to ensure the plant-based hair dye adheres properly. If you frequently use styling or conventional care products, it is best to use Ayluna Ghassoul to remove any residue. Do not use any care products like conditioner or hair masks before dying.

Step 2 — Mixing

Pour the plant-based hair dye into a bowl and gradually mix it with hot water* (approximately 300 ml for one package) until it forms a thick paste. The mixture should be creamy and drip very little. Protect your clothes with a hairdressing cape or an old towel.
*The temperature affects the dye result. The warmer the water, the warmer the dye tone will be.

Step 3 — Applying

Once the dye has cooled to a comfortable temperature, apply it evenly to your hair, strand by strand, using a colouring brush, starting at the roots. Gently massage the dye to ensure it covers all areas. Put on the cap and wrap a towel around it. Remove any dye residue from your face, ears, and neck.

Step 4 – Processing time

The processing time for Ayluna plant-based hair dye is between 15 minutes and 2 hours. A test strand will help you determine the exact time you need. In general: very light or damaged hair needs less time, while dark or healthy hair needs more. Make sure the dye does not dry out during the processing time.

Step 5 – Rinsing

Rinse out the plant-based hair dye thoroughly with plenty of warm water, without using shampoo or care products. The dye will develop optimally over the next 48 hours, and any greenish tinge will fade. Wash your hair with shampoo no sooner than 24-48 hours after dyeing. For extra care, you can use Ayluna Hair oil before the first shampoo wash.

Tips, tricks and useful information

Covering grey hair

With Ayluna plant-based hair dyes, you can naturally cover grey hair. If you have more than 40 % grey and desire a darker shade, pre-pigmentation is recommended: first dye your hair with an Ayluna red shade, and then directly after or the next day, apply the desired brown shade. Ayluna plant-based hair dye coats the hair, causing the lengths to become darker with regular use. To avoid this, only dye the entire hair every third or fourth application, and otherwise just the roots.

Mixing dyes

All Ayluna plant-based hair dyes can be freely combined. This allows you to create your own personal favourite shade.

Chemically dyed and permed hair

Chemical hair dyes and perms change the hair structure, which can lead to undesirable reactions with plant-based hair dyes. As a general rule, wait at least ten hair washes and/or 3 weeks. Bleached hair should first be treated with the plant-based hair treatment „Cassia“ and then gradually dyed darker. We are happy to offer personal advice.

Lightening

Lightening is not possible with natural plant-based hair dyes.

Avoiding stains and discoloration

To remove plant-based hair dye from the skin, use a mixture of oil and lemon juice. After dyeing, wet hair may still release some colour. Therefore, protect clothing and bedding from contact with wet hair.
